On the exterior, a polyurethane topcoat over a zinc-based primer is a proven system against road salt; insulation details that prevent galvanic couples at chassis-shell contact points are critical. On the interior, the integrity of the lining must be inspected periodically, and washing procedures must be followed without compromise at every product change.
